19 Machinist Graduates from Suncoast Technical College

We just completed year 2 of our Precision Machining and CNC Automation education program. Another successful year with our award winning program.  We had 19 graduates at a ceremony at Suncoast Technical College. 9 completed our 1200 hour Precision Machining apprentice program and all now have well paying local jobs in manufacturing.

10 students came to our evening Fast Track CNC machining program.  This program was for experienced machinists – engineers that needed modern machining skills. This ensured  that we continue to grow our local workforce.

All of these students earned 88 NIMS – Skills – credentials. This is a testing program from a nationally recognized organization that verifies an apprentice’s level of learning. This is very important to employers who need to be sure they are hiring the best candidates and we do !

Next Full time day class is scheduled for August 24. If you are interested please sign up early as seats fill up fast.  We have more jobs available. You will be working before the end of the class in June.  We also encourage veterans and women to learn these skills. Funding is also available.

The pay standards for an entry level modern machinist are in the $13-$18 range plus overtime.  When you complete this course you will have a trade – not just a job. A skill that can get a you a job anywhere plus you will always continue to learn and earn more. Usually we work in air conditioned facilities making pieces for aeronautics, medical, plastic injection molding, aerospace, motorsports, and more.
